Taking an enemy’s turn from them means they can’t attack you. I can’t emphasis this enough: Crowd Control is king.

Equally, a rogue can benefit from having a few close range magic spells to help them crowd control (freezing touch and the like) or improve their role (a point or two in the Air school of magic will give them access to a second invisibility skill, for example).

In fact, you absolutely should.įor example, Winged Feet, Adrenaline and many other Scoundrel (Rogue) abilities are useful for all classes. Just because you’re a mage doesn’t mean you can’t pick good utility spells from other schools. For example, your first mage can use an Earth skill to cover enemies in oil and your second mage can light them up with a fireball on their turn.ĭon’t be stuck picking skills and spells only from your class’ main school. If you have two mages in your party, I recommend having the complimentary schools between them so that they can work together better and follow up each other’s attacks. Water and Air work well together, and so do Fire and Earth. These give you access to skills and spells.įor a Mage class, pick two complimentary schools of magic to focus on. You want to focus on one of those per character or you’ll not be doing enough damage.Ībilities you can and should mix up. Strength is for heavy melee weapons, Intelligence is for magic schools, and Dexterity is for Rangers (who also need Perception for ranged attack accuracy) and Rogues. The first three I mentioned there are your attack stats. Stats are things like Strength, Intelligence, Dexterity, Constitution, etc. There’s two things to be aware of: Stats and Abilities.
